Description

Vidaryadi Kashayam is a classical Ayurvedic formulation composed of a nourishing group of herbs including Vidari (Pueraria tuberosa), Panchangula (Ricinus communis), Vrscikali (Pergularia extensa), Boerhavia diffusa, Luffa acutangula, Teramnus labialis, Solanum xanthocarpum, Asparagus racemosus, Leptadenia reticulata, and Microstylis spp., among others. Traditionally referenced in Ayurvedic texts for supporting respiratory function and addressing symptoms of chronic debility, it is commonly used in conditions such as Kasa (cough), Urdhvasvasa (breathlessness), and Gulma (abdominal mass). The formulation also supports digestive metabolism (Agnimandya) and may help in improving nourishment in states of emaciation (Karsya) and tissue depletion (Sosha). Its ingredients have been cited in traditional and contemporary studies for properties such as demulcent, expectorant, rejuvenative, and anti-inflammatory effects.

Indications

Gulma (Abdominal lump), Kasa (cough), Urdhvasvasa (Dyspnoea), Ksaya (Pthsis), Karsya (Emaciation), Sosa (Cachexia), Agnimandha (Digestive impairment).

Doses

Take 5 to 15 ml of kashayam mix it with 4 parts luke warm water, before food twice a day (or) as directed by the physician.
